NW25 & the Land We are on
At NW25 Outdoor Learning Co., I recognize that the land we are on is part of Treaty 4 Territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota, Dakota, Lakota, and the homeland of the Métis Nation. Our family farm, nestled near Bredenbury, Saskatchewan, has been lovingly cared for by the Thompson family for over 100 years. Through the generations, this land has shaped who we are, deepening our connection to nature and grounding us in gratitude for what the livelihood it provides my family.
I honor the Indigenous peoples who walked this land before us, whose deep knowledge and stewardship continue to inspire us to live with care and balance. I reflect on the work we must do today to heal relationships and nurture reconciliation, understanding that this is a shared journey.
With sâkihitowin [ᓵᑭᐦᐃᑐᐏᐣ] (love) and nistotamowin [ᓂᐢᑐᑕᒧᐏᐣ] (understanding), I am committed to learning from those around me, listening to the land, and fostering a future where we walk together in respect, harmony, and connection.
